Don’t Know What to do About Diabetes?
Have you recently been diagnosed with diabetes, or told by your doctor that you have “a touch of sugar” and advised to keep an eye on things? Or have you been living with your diagnosis but feel frustrated and stuck when it comes to making changes? Perhaps you already know what you should be doing but you don’t have the support or accountability to get the job done.
This is where I can help you.
Diabetes is serious business – too many people DENY they are at risk for long-term complications or DELAY in taking action to prevent those complications.
It’s important to understand how food and nutrition affect your body and your diabetes. When we develop a customized plan together, as a team, you’ll be able to tackle the challenges you face in everyday life and make changes that will last. But we’ll look beyond nutrition to develop a lifestyle plan that covers exercise, medications, sleep, stress, and more. You’ll learn the skills you need to build habits that become second-nature.
And with my support you’ll find you can control your diabetes without letting it control you.
You may think you’ll be told you can never eat your favorite foods again. But I’m not here to tell you what you can’t do, I’m here to show you what you can do. Carbs are not the enemy and we’ll discover ways to manage your diabetes without sacrificing the quality of your life.
Diabetes is a chronic condition – a quick fix or fad diet is not going to solve the problem. Personalized nutrition counseling can help you set and prioritize goals that matter to you. Don’t deny or delay any longer – take the first steps towards living your best life with diabetes.

What do sessions and programs typically include?
Every client is different, so no two programs are the same. However, there are some things you can always expect from a partnership with me. We’ll meet for an initial appointment, either in my office or virtually, where we dive deep into your health and nutrition history. From there, we’ll make an assessment and determine what our next steps will be and personalize a plan just for you. When you sign up for a program, you can trust that it’s fully individualized for you and your diabetes, whether it’s Type 1, Type 2, gestational diabetes or pre-diabetes.
I also like to include options for grocery store tours, cooking demos or lessons, walking meetings, and family or couples sessions to further ensure you have everything you need to confidently move forward with your new lifestyle.
How long do sessions last?
You can expect an initial appointment to last about an hour, but if we need more time that is always an option. Follow-up sessions are usually 30 to 45 minutes, and there are also options for scheduling phone calls at any time during your program to make sure all of your questions and concerns are addressed as soon as possible.
What forms of payment do you accept?
I use a self-pay model so cash, checks, and credit cards are all options for payment. And although I do not bill insurance, I can process payments for HSA/FSA cards and provide you with a Superbill if you are interested in pursuing reimbursement through your insurance provider.
What about medications?
Glad you asked! If you have established care with a primary care physician or endocrinologist, I have an open door policy (as long as you grant your permission) to communicate with them. I do not make recommendations for adjusting the doses of your medications or discontinuing your medications. There will be an additional form to fill out, but coordination of care is a top priority for me and I welcome the opportunity to align this program with your current plan of care.
I’m traveling or will be out of town – can I still book a program?
Yes! The beauty of having such a flexible program is that we adjust and accommodate as needed for travel, major life events, or unforeseen circumstances. I never want anyone’s schedule to stand in the way of getting the results they want for their life, so if you are committed to a program, I am committed to finding the best time for us to meet or connect each week.
